I need help designing my collar/lead
With over 40+ BioThane, I get it! It’s a lot. This is why I offer a personalised design service free of charge. If you’d like to see how certain colours look together before committing, either pop me a message via Instagram or email telling me which colours you're interested in. If you’re not sure, you’re more than welcome to tell me what sort of vibe you’re looking for. Whether you're looking for something autumnal, neutral, pastel etc, I’d be happy to take some photos for you of our colours side by side.

This service is currently unavailable for single rope colours as these are fairly new and I don’t yet have samples of them all to hand.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Our turarnound time is up to 4 weeks, however I always aim to fulfill your order as soon as possible. While this seems like a long time, Maple Moon Collars is consists of just me. All of the photography, social media, product design, website management, admin, and most importantly, the crafting, is done by me. As you can imagine, this is a lot for one person, your patience is very highly appreciated
I do kindly ask that you avoid requesting updates as this takes away from the time I spend crafting orders. If there’s any reason for your order to exceed our maximum turnaround time, you will be contacted, but this is very rare. Before reaching out, please make sure to check your spam, you may already have an email from me.
How do I measure for a tag collar?

How small/big can the collar be made?
Collars can be made as small as 10”, however if your dog’s neck is this small, I’d advise opting for a style without a BioThane strap keeper as this can add extra bulk which may be uncomfortable for a small dog. There is no upper size limit to our collars.
If you have a particularly small dog and you’d like smaller hardware on your lead, please contact me via email and I’d be happy to source some lightweight hardware.
How strong are your collars/leads?
Our 19mm BioThane has a break strength of 340kg. This is primarily used for leads and smaller collars.
Our 25mm BioThane has a break strength of 454kg. This width is primarily used for adjustable collars.
Our rope has a break strength of 1295kg
We use a wide range of hardware spanning several materials & sizes. If you’d like to know the break strength for the hardware you’re choosing, please contact me with the details of the product & size you’re interested in and I’d be happy to pull up the information for you. For heavy pullers, I reccomend upgrading to our stainless steel hardware.
Please note that while absolutely every effort has been made on my end to ensure our gear is safe and secure, it is also your responsibility to to select the appropriate gear for your dog based on their size, along with the level at which they pull.
Our products are not bite proof, please do not leave your dog alone with them and please do not allow them to chew their collar and/or lead. I cannot refund for products damaged due to misuse. I will however offer a refund and/or a replacement for damages due to faulty products. This is very unlikely, but please discontinue use of any potentially faulty product and contact me to discuss.
It’s important to note that Maple Moon Collars is not the manufacturer of any of the materials or hardware utilized to make our products, however all finished products are handcrafted by me.

I’m very active on Instagram and regularly share photos and videos of our custom made gear. These can be found in the highlight section of our Instagram. We’re also regularly tagged in photos by our customers if you’d like to see more.
Do you stock all of your materials in house?
As we offer over 100+ different materials, colours etc, I cannot physically hold stock. I order in materials by the meter required for your product. Off-cuts from your collar then go into our Mystery Collar section at a discounted rate.
How do I measure for an adjustable collar?
I recommend using a soft tape measure and measuring your dog’s neck directly. Please do not measure your dog’s current collar. Measuring your dogs current collar will provide an inaccurate measurement due to differences in hardware, materials, shrinkage etc.
Adjustable collars have 5 holes. The size you give me will be set as the middle hole, giving you 2 extra holes at either side allowing you to tighten or loosen the collar.
How do I choose a collar style?
Choosing a suitable collar style for your dog depends heavily on their size and breed. For sighthounds, we offer reduction collars. You can choose from either a 38mm or a 25mm back panel, and a 19mm or 25mm buckle.
Our reduction collars are also great for double coated dogs and larger dogs
For smaller dogs I recommend our 19mm collars, for medium breeds 25mm is a great option. For extra large breeds our 38mm wraparound with a 25mm buckle is ideal.
I measured my dog’s neck wrong and my collar doesn’t fit. Can you help?
On the very rare occasion that you’ve mistakenly ordered the wrong size collar, I offer a remake service. You’ll be asked to return the collar to me along with an updated size. There will be a small fee, this fee goes toward material costs & postage. Upon receiving your collar back, I’ll remeasure it and if the error turns out to be on my end, the remake will be free of charge and your postage will be reimbursed.
Refunds cannot be given unless there is an error on my part regarding size, colour, style etc in which instance a full refund or remake will be offered.
I’ve just placed an order but I’ve entered the wrong size/colour, can I change it?
If you’d like to change the size of your collar, please email me with your order number and your size update.
If you need to change the colour or style of your order, please contact me as soon as possible. If more than 5 days has lapsed since your order was placed, I’ll be unable to make any changes as all of my materials are ordered in specifically for you.
